The International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR) successfully launched its webinar series “It Takes Two to Tango” on 28 April 2026, bringing together about 100 participants from across the Danube River Basin and beyond. This initiative seeks to address the growing challenges of water scarcity, pollution, and climate change that threaten both water resources and food security in the Danube River Basin.

Have you ever wondered what secrets a single drop of water from the Danube River might hold? At this year’s Long Night of Research on 24 April 2026, the ICPDR invited visitors to find out at the Vienna International Centre (VIC).

Vienna, 17 Dec 2013. The ICPDR provides an interim overview on Significant Water Management Issues in the Danube River Basin District for the 2nd Danube River Basin Management Plan (2nd DRBMP) and invites the public to comment on this document until June 2014.

Using footage filmed for the award-winning documentary, the ICPDR has produced a film clip that showcases the beauty and diversity of the Danube River. The film clip also demonstrates the work of the Danube countries through the ICPDR.

Budapest, 9 October 2013. Croatian children have won the “International Danube Art Master 2013” competition, as the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR) and Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe announced today at the Budapest Water Summit.

The summit, organised by the Hungarian government in cooperation with the UN System and the World Water Council, will be one of the major events of the year relating to water and sanitation.
