VIENNA, 29 June – For Danube Day 2021 once again we are inviting more than eighty million people in the 14 Danube countries to celebrate the day, learn about the waters, experience the river, and #DiscoverDanube. Events will be held partially online this year with only a small number of outdoor events taking place.

Vienna, 29th June 2020 - Danube Day 2020 will be moving online this year, due to the uncertainty, necessary border-closures, and quarantine measures stemming from the global COVID-19 pandemic. Under normal circumstances, on 29th June we invite more than eighty million people in the14 Danube countries to celebrate Danube Day, and learn and experience the waters of the world’s most international river basin.
Improving the Safety of Tailings Management Facilities in the Danube River Basin
Since March 2019, the ICPDR, in cooperation with the Babes-Bolyai University and the non-governmental organisation, “Sustainable Development Platform”, has been implementing a new project: “Capacity development to improve safety conditions of tailings management facilities in the Danube River Basin – Phase I: North-Eastern Danube countries”.
