Earth, 22 April 2013. „Earth Day“ is celebrated all around the World, including many places in the Danube River Basin. Highlighting the responsibility that all people share for the well-being of our planet, many events are also dedicated to the condition of water. The Serbian “Supernatural Festival” demonstrated this.

Geneva, 17 March 2012. The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes (UNECE Water Convention), adopted in Helsinki, Finland on 17 March 1992, celebrates its twentieth anniversary today. It is the only international framework agreement in force on transboundary freshwater.

"The Danube - Europe's Amazon" is a 2012 documentary in two parts that portrays the Danube's journey from the Black Forest to the Black Sea. The ICPDR acted as a co-producer in this project. Here you can see the trailer.

Danube Basin, 27 June 2012. One year after the launch of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) and upon the occasion of Danube Day, EU Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn, is making a tour of the region to meet those who are putting the plan into action. He will discuss how to accelerate implementation of the EUSDR, which can be an important instrument in creating jobs and growth.
