    Danube Day 2006 celebrated by thirteen countries

    Danube Basin, 29 June 2006. A series of events have been planned for the celebration of the third Danube Day, 29 June, to commemorate the anniversary of the signing of the Danube River Protection Convention in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1994. Danube Day 2006 follows the slogan DANUBE: RIVER OF LIFE.

    ICPDR Stakeholder Conference 2005

    Participation of the stakeholder is a prerequisite for integrated river basin management planning.

    On occasion of Danube Day 2005, the ICPDR invited stakeholders from all riparian countries to participate in the first basin-wide stakeholder conference, which was held in Budapest, as Hungary was the ICPDR President in 2005.

    Tisza Investigation

    The investigation of the Tisza River was a follow-up project of the Joint Danube Survey 2001 organised by the ICPDR. The objective of the survey was to investigate the water quality along the river and to promote public awareness. The countries participating at the survey include Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Serbia and Montenegro.
