    The ICPDR supports the active involvement of stakeholders and civil society on all levels of its work. The most important work plans of the ICPDR are the Danube River Basin Management Plan and the Flood Risk Management Plan. Both were developed with a range of public consultation measures.

    Rhine Commission wins International Riverprize

    Canberra, 16 September 2014. The International Commission for the Protection of the Rhine (ICPR) won the 2014 Thiess International Riverprize. The award was presented in front of river professionals from all over the world at the Riverprize Gala Dinner, held in conjunction with the International Riversymposium. This follows the award of the European Riverprize last year.

Highlights of the conference included current trends in trans-boundary water management related to water, energy and food security – including climate change.

This is pursued through observer organisations, as well as through public consultation activities for the development of management plans. To ensure a high level of public information, educational and outreach initiatives support the public participation work of the ICPDR.

    Public Participation: Interim Overview on Significant Water Management Issues

    Vienna, 17 Dec 2013. The ICPDR provides an interim overview on Significant Water Management Issues in the Danube River Basin District for the 2nd Danube River Basin Management Plan (2nd DRBMP) and invites the public to comment on this document until June 2014.
