VIENNA, 29 June – Eighty-one million people in all 14 Danube countries are invited to ‘Get Active for a healthier Danube’ on 29 June as part of our celebrations for the 15th annual Danube Day.

Freezing weather conditions in the winter months have been a fact of life on the Danube since time immemorial, but the months of January and February 2017 saw many countries in the Danube Basin and its tributaries facing an especially bleak situation.

This document presents the win-win situation which resulted between the ICPDR, GEF/UNDP, EU and the Danube countries and their diverse peoples after 15 years of developing “integrated river basin management” (IRBM) in the Danube Basin.

Maribor, 24 September 2008. A “Declaration concerning common approaches to water management, flood protection, hydropower utilization and nature and biodiversity conservation in the Drava River Basin” was adopted by Participants at the “Drava River Vision Symposium” in Maribor, Slovenia.

Vienna, 13 October 2008. Two Slovak children have won the ‘International Danube Art Master 2008’ competition. The International Master is selected from the winners of the national ‘Danube Art Master’ competitions in 14 Danube Basin countries.
