The ICPDR Celebrates World Water Day 2026: “Where Water Flows, Equality Grows”
VIENNA, 20 March (Vienna International Centre) – The growing disparities in water access around the world and the escalating impacts of climate change on the Danube River Basin are some of the most pressing challenges of our time, says the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR) as it joins the global community in commemorating World Water Day 2026 on Sunday, 22 March. This year’s theme, "Where water flows, equality grows," highlights the indispensable role of equitable water management in fostering social justice, economic stability, and environmental resilience across the Danube region.

Public Participation: Interim Overview on Significant Water Management Issues
Vienna, 17 Dec 2013. The ICPDR provides an interim overview on Significant Water Management Issues in the Danube River Basin District for the 2nd Danube River Basin Management Plan (2nd DRBMP) and invites the public to comment on this document until June 2014.

Film Clip on Danube and the ICPDR
Using footage filmed for the award-winning documentary, the ICPDR has produced a film clip that showcases the beauty and diversity of the Danube River. The film clip also demonstrates the work of the Danube countries through the ICPDR.

Sturgeon 2020 published in print
Bucharest, 28 Oct 2013. The "Sturgeon 2020", a strategy and program for the protection and rehabilitation of the Danube sturgeons, was published by the Danube Sturgeon Task Force.

Croatia is Danube Art Master 2013
Budapest, 9 October 2013. Croatian children have won the “International Danube Art Master 2013” competition, as the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR) and Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe announced today at the Budapest Water Summit.

Budapest Water Summit
Budapest, 8-11 October 2013. The Budapest Water Summit will be held in the Hungarian capital between 8 and 11 October 2013. The summit, organised by the Hungarian government in cooperation with the UN System and the World Water Council, will be one of the major events of the year relating to water and sanitation.
