ICPDR 23rd Standing Working Group Meeting in Postojna, Slovenia

The 23rd Standing Working Group (StWG) meeting of the ICPDR took place 17-18 June 2025 in Postojna, Slovenia, gathering representatives from across the Danube River Basin to review progress and align on next steps.

Expert Groups presented key updates and achievements, as well as upcoming activities such as the 2027 Plans Updates of the Danube River Basin Management Plan (DRBMP) and Danube Flood Risk Management Plan (DFRMP). These efforts follow the completion of the Public Participation Schedule earlier this year.

Additional highlights included:

  • Progress on drought management initiatives
  • Advancements on the Joint Statement 2.0
  • Preparations for the launch of the 5th Joint Danube Survey (JDS5), scheduled for 1 July in Vienna

The ICPDR extends its sincere gratitude to ICPDR President 2025, Lidija Globevnik, and the Slovenian Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning for hosting the meeting and organizing a memorable visit to the remarkable Postojna Cave.
