Zagreb, 4-5 Feb 2014. The 5th Follow-up of the Joint Statement Meeting was held in Zagreb on 4-5 February. Hosted by the International Sava River Basin Commission, representatives from navigation and environment discussed projects and policies.

In October 2007, a "Joint Statement on Inland Navigation and Environmental Sustainability in the Danube River Basin" was concluded, followed by a series of annual meetings. Here, we present reports, minutes and background materials of these meetings.

Vienna, 3 Feb 2014. Wolfgang Stalzer of Austria and Fritz Holzwarth of Germany are the first dignatories of a new ICPDR honorary function: as ICPDR Goodwill Ambassadors, they will resume a representative role for the Commission in international matters.

Budapest, 8-11 October 2013. The Budapest Water Summit will be held in the Hungarian capital between 8 and 11 October 2013. The summit, organised by the Hungarian government in cooperation with the UN System and the World Water Council, will be one of the major events of the year relating to water and sanitation.

Danube Basin, 22 May 2013. With approximately 5000 native animal and 2000 plant species, the Danube River Basin is an important element in preserving biodiversity in Europe. To improve this further, educational activities are key. The Danubeparks network is now launching a new initiative in this field.

Earth, 22 April 2013. „Earth Day“ is celebrated all around the World, including many places in the Danube River Basin. Highlighting the responsibility that all people share for the well-being of our planet, many events are also dedicated to the condition of water. The Serbian “Supernatural Festival” demonstrated this.
