Stockholm, 21 August 2011. The “World Water Week” is taking place in Stockholm, Sweden, from August 21 to 27. The event, which is held annually since 1991, is organised by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI).

Sofia, 1 May 2011. In order to protect endangered sturgeon species, Bulgaria decided to ban sturgeon fishing in May 2011. Romania was the first country to implement a sturgeon fishing ban in the Danube in 2006 and is now followed by its southern neighbour.

The United Nations Development Programme produced a video on the restoration of the Danube River and the Black Sea.

Vienna, 2 February 2018. The 2nd of February is the World Wetlands Day. The ICDPR takes this occasion to highlight the vital significance of wetlands in the Danube River Basin.
