Geneva, 17 March 2012. The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes (UNECE Water Convention), adopted in Helsinki, Finland on 17 March 1992, celebrates its twentieth anniversary today. It is the only international framework agreement in force on transboundary freshwater.

"The Danube - Europe's Amazon" is a 2012 documentary in two parts that portrays the Danube's journey from the Black Forest to the Black Sea. The ICPDR acted as a co-producer in this project. Here you can see the trailer.

Budapest, 23 March 2012. The role of leading companies in contributing to the conservation and protection of water and freshwater eco-systems in the Danube River Basin were discussed at an Agricultural Forum held in Budapest on 23 March 2012.

Vienna, 11 March 2008 - The first-ever `Joint Statement on Guiding Principles for the Development of Inland Navigation and Environmental Protection in the Danube River Basin´ was launched today. The interdisciplinary process to create the Joint Statement was led by the ICPDR, the Danube Commission on Navigation and the International Commission for the Sava River Basin.
