The ICPDR is mandated to implement the Danube River Protection Convention and is the Danube basin-wide coordination body for the implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive and the EU Floods Directive. The Tisza Group, which has been established by the ICPDR, is the platform for strengthening coordination and information exchange related to international, regional and national activities in the sub-basin of the Tisza River.
In order to support activities in the Tisza River Basin, the JOINTISZA project with the aim of strengthening cooperation between river basin management planning and flood risk prevention to enhance the status of waters of the Tisza River Basin started on 1 January 2017 and will run for 30 months until June 2019. The ICPDR as partner in the JOINTISZA project is seeking for a Technical JOINTISZA Project Staff.
The Technical JOINTISZA Project Staff of the ICPDR works under direct supervision of the ICPDR Executive Secretary and in close cooperation with ICPDR Technical Experts and Finance Administration Officer and shall be responsible for the fulfilment of the following tasks:
1. Facilitation and support in JOINTISZA data management
2. Support in JOINTISZA project management
3. Responsibility for JOINTISZA project financial management
4. Participation in JOINTISZA project and related ICPDR meetings and preparation of related documents
The employment starts on 1 August 2017 and will terminate in June 2019 according to the duration of the JOINTISZA project. Qualification requirements are preferably 2 years of experience in the field of the EU-Water Framework Directive and EU-Floods Directive and other EU legislation related to environment and water management; basic knowledge and experience in working with databases (SQL) and GIS software; knowledge and experience in project management and financial management; interdisciplinary university degree (MSc) or equivalent; fluency in English and one language of the Tisza River Basin.
