ICPDR Releases Condensed Summary of Danube Declaration 2022
Following a similar approach from previous years, this effort aims to simplify the Danube Declaration 2022 and make it more understandable to a wider audience. The condensed version addresses vital questions such as the Declaration's purpose, the players involved, its objectives, and ways for members of the public to support its goals. The ultimate aim is to ensure that the Declaration provides valuable information and inspires action among those across the Danube River Basin who wish to contribute to its initiatives.
4th ICPDR Ministerial Meeting
The ICPDR held its 4th Ministerial Meeting on February 8th, 2022, where ministers and representatives responsible for water management from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Montenegro, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, and the European Union gathered to endorse the two Management Plans Updates and adopt the Danube Declaration.
This Declaration, which is updated and signed every six years, is a crucial aspect of the ICPDR's mission to strengthen and improve the Danube River Basin. The Danube Declaration serves as a coordinating mechanism for transboundary water management within the basin. It brings new issues to the forefront while revisiting old approaches for the future of transboundary water management.
