Danube Day 2011: Website is online!
Under the umbrella of the ICPDR, events will be held all countries of the Danube River Basin. Organisers will include governmental and non-governmental organizations, clubs and associations, and many more. Hundreds of thousands of people will be drawn to these events on June 29, the anniversary of the signing of the Danube River Protection Convention.
As a special gift item, uniquely designed cotton bags will be given out. These bags are more than just a promotional gimmick: They are meant to make people think twice about the use of plastic bags and help reduce pollution. Help to get active for the rivers, in the best spirit of Danube Day.
New this year is the organisation behind the Danube Art Master competition: The ICPDR will collaborate with the Global Water Partnership for Central and Eastern Europe. For the Danube Art Master, children are encouraged to draw inspiration from rivers to create a piece of art that could win the prestigious award in autumn. As in previous years, Danube Day is actively supported by the Coca-Cola system.
